Scott Morris

Teaching

Scott's teaching methodology is one of cruel, unrelenting rigor. He has been known to punch students in the face for making a mistake while playing a drag paradiddle. Despite his rage, Scott is widely respected as a teacher. Until you make him mad.

Scott charges an arm, a leg, three fingers, and a butt cheek per lesson. Usually this means he limits lessons to one or two between surgeries. He makes the occasional exception, but usually only for students with three or more arms.

Teaching is a passion for Scott. He is the director of drumset and percussion studies at The Jazzschool in Berkeley, CA, and has given many clinics all over the west coast and Canada, and hosted clinics for such drummers as Dave Black, Colin Bailey, Steve Smith, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, and Denny Seiwell.
